He attended Northwestern University and Oberlin College before beginning his acting career in Off-Broadway theater in 1960. He made his film debut in 1965 in "Once a Thief" and went on to act in a handful of features made in Italy, including "The Mercenary" and "The Bird With the Crystal Plumage." He was also known for his roles in "The Last Run," "The Grissom Gang," "The Pope of Greenwich Village," and "Oz." He had a starring role in the TV series "Toma" and guest spots on various other shows, including "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour," "The Fugitive," and "Medical Story." On stage, he appeared in "P.S., Your Cat Is Dead!," "A Memory of Two Mondays/27 Wagons Full of Cotton," and "The Lady from Dubuque." Musante passed away in 2013 at the age of 77.
