Steve Paris was born in Cambridge, England in February 1953. He became a professional racer in 1976 at the age of 22 and won the ACU Solo title in the British Motor Cycle Championship. He was the 500cc ACU Gold Star Champion in 1987 and won the Shell 500 title in 1979 and 1980, as well as a Superbike title in 1981. Steve retired from motorcycle racing in 1986 and started truck racing as well as managing a Yamaha factory team to three British Superbike championships.
