Irish striker who scored 44 goals in 174 appearances for Reading FC from 2005 to 2011, then spent three seasons with West Bromwich Albion before joining Hull City in 2014. He was first selected to the Republic of Ireland national team in 2007.
He began playing youth soccer with Borris St. Kevins at age seven. He was also a Hurler for Tipperary.
He was named the FAI Young International Player of the Year in 2010.
He married Kayleah Long in 2013 and has two children.
He helped Reading beat Fernando Torres and Liverpool in the 2006 FA Cup.
