Rod Gilbert is a Canadian-born NHL Hall of Fame right winger who was born on July 1, 1941 in Montreal. He is best known for being the first New York Ranger to have his number retired. During his career, he was a nine-time All-Star and won the Art Ross Trophy in 1971. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1982.
