Mitch Kupchak was born on May 24, 1954 in New York and is a former basketball player who won NBA Championships with the Washington Bullets in 1978 and the Los Angeles Lakers in 1982 and 1985. After his playing career, he took over from Jerry West as the General Manager of the Lakers, where he has been since 2000.
