1993

Raz was born and raised in Ma'ale Adumim, Israel, to Jewish parents who immigrated from Iraq and Algeria. His father worked for the Ministry of Defense, and his mother is a Teacher. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces and joined the elite Duvdevan Unit. In 1993, after his military Service, he moved to the United States and later was hired as Arnold Schwarzenegger's bodyguard. In an interview with Israel Hayom he said: "An American company run by Israelis turned to me since they knew my military background, for me it wasn't a glamorous thing, to be the watch dog of Schwarzenegger and his wife".

2004

In his early acting years, he played at different plays, such as Don Juan at Gesher Theater, Macbeth and The Teenagers. He also played small roles on Israeli TV series. In 2004, he played a police investigator on Michaela and 'referee Ben Shabat' on Adumot. In 2005 he appeared as Shimi in his first feature film Gotta Be Happy. In 2008 he appeared on Srugim as Yisrael, and a year later on Mesudarim as a Shin Bet agent, and as Maor on Noah's Ark. In 2011 he played a police unit commander on Nadav Lapid's film Policeman, and as Asa'el on Prime Minister's Children alongside Rami Heuberger.

2012

In 2012, he portrayed Nissan Title on yes spying-drama The Gordin Cell, and appeared on the film The World is Funny as Barak. In 2013, he played the role of the police commander on the fourth season of The Arbitrator, and in 2014 appeared on the film The Kindergarten Teacher.

In 2014, he created with Haaretz Journalist Avi Issacharoff, the critically acclaimed series Fauda in which he stars as Doron Kavillio, the commander of a Mista'arvim unit.
