Vikram Sarabhai was an Indian physicist who was born on August 12, 1919. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan Awards for his contributions to the field of science. He is widely regarded as the father of India's space program, having helped to create the Physical Research Laboratory in Ahmedabad, one of the first labs to be established in independent India.
