Sunil Shetty is an Indian actor and producer who made his debut in 1992 with Balwaan. Despite the film not being a major hit, his acting skills were noticed. His success streak began with the action thriller Mohra (1994) and the comical film Gopi Kishan (1994). He went on to deliver blockbuster hits with his intense performances in patriotic films such as Border (1997), Refugee (2000), Qayamat: City Under Threat (2003) and LOC: Kargil (2003). Shetty has acted in over eighty movies, ranging from action to comedy to villainous roles. He also set up a production company called Popcorn Motion Pictures Ltd and produced Khel (2003), Rakht (2004) and Bhagam Bhag (2006).

Suniel Shetty was born in a Tulu speaking ethnic Bunt family on 11 August 1961 in Mulki, Mangalore, India.
1990
Shetty was involved primarily in action films throughout the 1990s, playing the male protagonist in most of the movies he acted in during the decade. From early 2000, he mainly appeared in multi-starrers in across genres. He also starred opposite Isha Koppikar in Arjun Rampal's debut movie Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat (2001).

He is married to Mana Shetty and has two children, ActressAthiya Shetty (born 5 November 1992) and Ahan (born 15 January 1996). Athiya made her acting debut opposite actor Aditya Pancholi's son Sooraj Pancholi in Hero (2015).
