Before Fame
He spent his early childhood in poverty: his family lived in a makeshift home on the western Canadian prairie. After his father was convicted of tax evasion, Hart and his mother and siblings were aided by the Salvation Army and were given a home in Edmonton, Alberta, where Hart began training as a Wrestler at the local YMCA.

In early 2010, he became a posthumous inductee into the World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (WWE) Hall of Fame.
