Shin Dong-Joo was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1982 and is the eldest son of Shin Kyuk-Ho, the founder of Lotte Group. Lotte Group is now South Korea's largest retailer and has a wide range of interests from food and beverages to chemicals, construction and professional baseball. In 2015, Shin Dong-Joo was removed from his executive positions in the group due to a feud with his brother, Shin Dong-Bin, over control of the group.
