About
After rising to fame for his portrayal of Duryodhana in the late 1980s television version of Mahabharata, Issar appeared in the J.P. Dutta film Border and directed the 2004 feature Garv: Pride and Honour.
Before Fame
He made his on-screen debut in the 1983 Bollywood film Coolie and went on to appear in the cult classic horror movie Purana Mandir.

His father, Sudesh Issar, had a successful career as a film director, and his sister, Satyajeet Puri, was a popular child actress. With his wife, Deepali Puri Issar (the daughter of singer Ashita Puri and actor Diljit Puri), he raised a son named Siddhant and a daughter named Nivriti.
