American singer and performer who is known for being one of the founding members of the girl group The Ronettes. She is also known for her solo career in which she discovered Christ and sang about her salvation story, influenced by her marriage to former interviewer for The 700 Club Scott Ross.
Before Fame
She first began earning recognition for her voice in 1957 when she began singing with The Ronettes. In 1967, she left the group reportedly due to Phil Spector's suggestion to his wife and fellow bandmate Ronnie. In 1977, she began recording several Christian songs and released the solo album Full Circle in 1978.
Trivia
In 2007 she and the other two members of The Ronettes were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Family Life
As a member of the Ronettes, she performed alongside her cousins Ronnie and Estelle Bennett. She married Scott Ross in 1967 and together they had four children.
Associated With
Her 1978 record Full Circle featured an inner sleeve photo of her sharing seats on a plane with George Harrison in the 1960's.
