He was a key figure in the expansion and prominence of the startup Net Gravity, later acquired by DoubleClick, an online ad servicing company, which was then acquired by Google in 2007. He has also worked with Microsoft and served as a board member of Stitch Fix and 23andMe.
He studied electrical engineering at Stanford University, graduating in 1996, before returning in 2003 to pursue an MBA.
He testified before Congress and attended a White House summit in September 2022 to announce stricter guidelines to combat extremism on YouTube. This was in response to the January 6 capitol riot and other attempts to overturn the 2020 U.S. presidential election.
