Michel Briere was a Canadian former NHL player for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He was born on October 21, 1949 and tragically died in May 1970 after a car accident left him in a coma. His memory was honored by the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, who renamed their MVP trophy the Michel Briere Memorial Trophy.
