John Amplas is an actor, casting director, and make up department born on June 23, 1949 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is best known for his role in George Romero's horror film "Martin" and has appeared in several other films for Romero, including "Dawn of the Dead" (for which he was also the casting director), "Creepshow," "Day of the Dead," "Bloodeaters," and "Midnight." Amplas has also had a long and distinguished stage career as both an actor and director, and is a founding member and Associate Artistic Director of the Pittsburgh Playhouse Repertory Company. He currently teaches acting as an Associate Professor with the Conservatory of Performing Arts at Point Park University.
