Guy Gardner was an American Air Force Colonel born on January 6, 1948 in Virginia. He was a highly decorated pilot who flew two Space Shuttle missions, and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service. He was also a member of the Astronaut Hall of Fame.
