Gene Conley was born on November 10, 1930 in Oklahoma and was a versatile athlete who played both baseball and basketball professionally. He was the only athlete in history to win championships in two of the four major North American sports leagues, winning a World Series title with the Milwaukee Braves in 1957 and three NBA championships with the Boston Celtics in 1959, 1960, and 1961. He was also an All-Star in both sports, making the MLB All-Star team in 1953 and the NBA All-Star team in 1959.
