She graduated from the Theater School of DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, where she had lead roles in First Breeze of Summer, Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet, and Vivian Baptiste in A Lesson Before Dying. After college, Cynthia worked opposite Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves in The Lake House, and had a recurring role on FOX's Prison Break. She then landed a lead role in Family Practice and worked in independent films like Robert Townsend's Of Boys and Men and the romantic comedy, One Small Hitch. Cynthia then moved to Los Angeles and landed a role as a series regular on The Real Husbands of Hollywood, and has since had guest and recurring roles on The Exes, Hart of Dixie, Survivors Remorse, The Odd Couple, Nashville, and more. She has also done voiceover work for Cartoon Network, the animated film Bilal, and several video games.
