Austrian stage, film, and television actress who is known for her roles as Mary Vetsera in Kronprinz Rudolfs letzte Liebe and Recha in Lessing's Nathan der Weise. She received various awards for her acting, including the Adolf Grimme Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in 2001.
Her mother wanted her to train as a pastry maker when she was younger. In 1955, she decided to pursue an acting career and attended the Max Reinhardt Seminar.
In 1995, she was a member of the jury at the 45th Berlin International Film Festival. She appeared in many episodes of television throughout her career.
