Before Fame
Since the age of five, she had competed in over 300 singing competitions in her area. She began taking singing lessons at the age of ten. She attended Riverside Secondary School in Singapore. Despite winning the competition and receiving a management contract through MediaCorp, she wanted to finish her studies before pursuing music full-time.

Along with a management contract, she won the part in Glass Anatomy The Musical in which she performed with Taiwanese singer Ding Dong.

She was born Bonnie Loo Mee Yee in Ipoh, Malaysia, and moved to Singapore when she was twelve years old.
