Before Fame
At nine, he inherited his father's love of playing the guitar. Two years later, he expanded the the drums and bass. By twelve, he and his siblings were singing together in Church as the Dube family Singers.
Trivia
After his father was murdered in 1976, he and his family toured the Netherlands singing and sharing the story of his death. They later released the album Vader Vergeef He Then which translates to Father Forgive Them.

He was the last son of five children born to Reverend Benjamin and Grace Dube. His father was a Guitarist and his mother was a singer.
