Hjalmar Branting was a Swedish politician and the sixteenth Prime Minister of Sweden. He was born on November 23, 1860 in Stockholm, Sweden. He served as Prime Minister twice, from 1920 to 1921, and from 1921 to 1923 and 1924 to 1925. During his time in office, he secured Sweden a place in the League of Nations and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1921.
