Henry The Navigator was a Portuguese explorer born on March 4, 1394 in Porto, Portugal. He is credited with beginning the Age of Exploration, which saw the Portuguese explore and colonize much of the world. He was a major figure in the development of Portuguese maritime exploration and was responsible for the establishment of trading posts and colonies in Africa, India, and the Far East.
