Guillermo Cabrera Infante was a Cuban novelist, screenwriter, and journalist born on April 22, 1929. He is best known for his 1967 novel Tres Tristes Tigres, for which he was awarded the 1997 Premio Cervantes. He also co-wrote the screenplay for Vanishing Point and was the head of the Communist literary publication Lunes de Revolucion.
