Dorota Kobiela, born in 1978, is a Director, Writer, and Art Department graduate from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She has been awarded the "Minister of Culture scholarship" for her achievements in painting and graphics for four consecutive years. After discovering animation and film, she attended The Warsaw Film School, Direction Faculty and has directed one live action short film, The Hart in Hand (2006) and five animated shorts. Her sixth animated short, Loving Vincent, was her feature film debut and combined her passion for painting and film. The task of writing and directing was so great that she had to content herself with directing the 95 painters.
