Deng Xiaoping was a Chinese leader who served as the leader of the People's Republic of China from 1978 to 1992. He is most remembered for his involvement in the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre, but is also credited with helping China become one of the fastest growing economies during the end of the 20th century. He was born on August 22, 1904 in Guang'an, China.
