Former equestrian who is recognized for having been a show jumping champion. He took home the bronze medal from the Olympic games in 1960 and 1968. In 1970, he was given the title of Officer of the Order of the British Empire.
He was a student at the Monmouth School. He made his Olympic debut during the 1960 games in Rome.
He competed in the 1967 European championships in Rotterdam. Most of his wins were riding Irish Sport Horses. In 1972, he was the Olympic flag bearer for Great Britain.
