English polymath who is considered to be the Father of Computing for his invention of a calculating machine. He also originated the concept of a programmable computer.
He was taken out of school and taught by private tutors because of his frail health.
His difference engine, which was an automatic mechanical calculator designed to tabulate polynomial functions, was never constructed in his lifetime, but the idea formed the basis of modern computing.
He married Georgiana Whitmore on July 25, 1814.
