Anthony Cistaro was born in Kirksville, Missouri in 1963 and moved to San Francisco, California when he was three months old. From a young age, he dreamed of becoming an actor and was involved in productions throughout grammar, middle and high school. After graduating from Loyola Marymount University in 1985, he accepted guest star roles on popular television series. He then studied acting technique with Stella Adler and spent a few years at the American Repertory Theatre Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard University. Anthony currently plays Kenneth Irons on Witchblade (2000) and has said that if he were not able to continue as an actor, he would consider becoming a teacher, writer, swim instructor, beach lifeguard or FBI agent.

Following high school, Cistaro attended Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California, where he double majored with a BA in French and Communication Arts in 1985. Additionally, he studied abroad at the American University of Paris.

In Los Angeles he studied acting technique with Stella Adler, going on to the Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard University, where he performed in over 17 productions and graduated with a Professional Certificate in Acting in 1997.
