She was a hugely popular striptease artist, best known for her work at Minsky's Burlesk Theater in New York. In 1940, she was making around $1,000 a week for her work, plus a contractual 25% intake of house receipts. Corio suggested once that the art of the striptease should be rechristened "deciduous kinesthetics."
