Second runner-up in the Miss USA pageant 2015, she was first crowned Miss Rhode Island USA.
She began studying legal studies and philosophy at Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island, in 2013. She earned a full scholarship to the school after winning the International Leadership Award.
She floundered her first Top 5 interview question during the Miss USA pageant, which was about race relations in the United States. She asked them to repeat the question and ran out of time during her answer.
She is of Dominican heritage and was raised by her grandmother. Her grandmother adopted her at birth because her mother was raped when she was 13 years old and their religion didn't allow abortions.
She placed third at Miss USA 2015, behind Miss Texas Ylianna Guerra and winner Olivia Jordan.
